The Kiening family in Karlsfeld, Bavaria, wanted to offer their vegetables outside of regular farm shop opening hours. Without further ado, a section of the warehouse was partitioned off, resulting in the 24/7 farm store with the Lokbest software solution.
The traditional family business Kiening Gemüsebau in Karlsfeld near Munich has been combining agricultural experience with innovative ideas since 1890. On around 15 hectares of open land and one hectare of greenhouses, the family grows over 45 different types of vegetables – from salads and tomatoes to cabbage, onions, herbs and much more. The range is complemented by regional products such as eggs, pasta, cheese and sausage.
Since June 2024, the company has been operating a fully digitalized 24/7 self-service store equipped with the Lokbest Store software solution. Customers simply register via the app, gain secure access to the store area and make cashless payments – quickly, easily and at any time of day. In this way, Kiening Gemüsebau makes fresh food accessible even outside normal store hours.
At the same time, the traditional farm store with personal service will remain open. It is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. Pre-orders can be placed conveniently by email or WhatsApp – ideal for anyone who wants to make targeted purchases.
